Entropion

Entropion

About

Entropion is an inward turning eyelid that causes the lashes to rub against the surface of the eye. This can lead to discomfort, redness, and damage to the cornea.

Treatment

Corrective surgery offers lasting relief and restores the natural eyelid position.

Surgery for both entropion and ectropion repair involves tightening the eyelid tendons both horizontally and vertically to correct the position. In selected cases more complex addition repair is required. Surgery is usually preformed under local anaesthetic or with sedation.

York Oculoplastics, owned by Oculoplastic Surgeon Miss Gabriella Guevara, specialises in functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Providing surgical excellence in eyelids, Miss Guevara offers comprehensive Oculoplastic care.
