Ectropion
About
Ectropion describes outward turning of the lower eyelid, often leading to watering, irritation, and ocular surface discomfort.
Treatment
Surgical repair restores the eyelid to its normal position, protecting the eye and improving comfort and appearance.
Surgery for both entropion and ectropion repair involves tightening the eyelid tendons both horizontally and vertically to correct the position. In selected cases more complex addition repair is required. Surgery is usually preformed under local anaesthetic or with sedation.
